Privacy

TradeorHodl collects as little as it can. This page says what is kept, where and why, and how to have your details removed.

In short

  • If you join the Pro waitlist, we keep your email address and a few details about the sign-up, only to tell you about Pro.
  • No ads and no tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share your details.
  • Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and only shows us totals.
  • Your desk settings stay in your own browser.
  • Your browser fetches market data straight from Bybit, CoinGecko, Deribit, alternative.me and Blockscout, so they see your IP address.
  • Email admin@tradeorhodl.com and we'll delete your waitlist details.

The Pro waitlist

When you join the waitlist on the Pro page, we keep:

  • your email address;
  • your answer to “I mostly…” (trade, hodl or both), if you gave one;
  • the campaign tags of the link that first brought you to the site (utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign), if it had any;
  • the page you signed up on;
  • when you first and last signed up, and how many times.

We use it to email you about Pro: early access, and founding-member pricing for the waitlist. We also look at the totals to see which videos and links bring people in. We don't sell it, share it or use it for anything else.

It is stored in Cloudflare Workers KV, the database of our host, Cloudflare, and kept until you ask us to remove it or we no longer need it for Pro.

Your IP address is not stored. To stop one network flooding the list, a hashed (scrambled) form of it is kept for 10 minutes after you sign up, then deleted automatically.

Analytics

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless: it doesn't store anything in your browser, doesn't follow you from site to site and doesn't build a profile of you. We only see totals, such as page views, which sites send visitors, countries and how fast pages load. Its script loads from static.cloudflareinsights.com and reports to cloudflareinsights.com.

What stays in your browser

The desks save your settings in your browser's local storage, so they're still there next time: on the Trade desk, things like your watchlist, alerts, panel layout and paper-trading account; on the Hodl desk, your accounts, holdings and any wallet addresses you add. None of it is sent to us, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.

The site also keeps the campaign tags of the link that first brought you here in local storage, and sends them only if you join the waitlist. While a tab is open, it remembers for up to 10 minutes which route to the market data works for you, in session storage, which your browser clears when you close the tab.

TradeorHodl sets no cookies of its own.

Market data comes straight from the source

The desks' prices, charts and on-chain data come from public services that your browser calls directly: Bybit (including its live price stream), CoinGecko, Deribit, alternative.me (the Fear & Greed index) and Blockscout. Like any website you visit, they see your IP address and basic details of your browser, and their own privacy policies apply.

When you press Sync from chain on the Hodl desk, your browser sends that wallet address to Blockscout to read its balances.

If a direct call fails, it is tried again through the site's data proxy at /api/, which forwards only the request itself, never your cookies or other headers. The service then sees Cloudflare's servers instead of you.

Pages also load the Outfit font from Google Fonts, and the desks load their chart and PDF libraries from unpkg and cdnjs, so those see your IP address too.

Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles each request, including your IP address, to deliver and protect the site, under the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Removal and questions

To be removed from the waitlist, email admin@tradeorhodl.com and tell us the address you signed up with. We'll delete it.

Changes

If anything here changes, this page and the date at the top change with it.
